Notice Board - Landlords & Tenants

A tenant is an individual or entity that rents or leases a property from a landlord for a specified period.

The tenant has the right to occupy and use the property according to the terms and conditions set out in the lease agreement.

Here are some key aspects of being a tenant:

  1. Lease Agreement: This is a legally binding contract that outlines the terms of the rental, including the rent amount, duration, responsibilities, and rules.
  2. Rent Payment: Tenants are required to pay rent regularly, as agreed in the lease agreement.
  3. Maintenance: Tenants must take care of the property and report any maintenance issues to the landlord. They are typically responsible for minor repairs and keeping the property clean.
  4. Rights and Responsibilities: Tenants have the right to quiet enjoyment of the property and the responsibility to abide by the lease terms, such as not causing damage or engaging in illegal activities.
  5. Termination of Lease: The lease agreement specifies the conditions under which the tenancy can be terminated, either by the tenant or the landlord.

Being a tenant involves a balance of rights and responsibilities to ensure a harmonious living arrangement with the landlord.
